In the spring of 2019 I got together with some accomplished and talented friends to launch jazzcast.ca. The idea was simple; we wanted to create a platform for the worldwide jazz community with an aim to bring you not just incredible jazz and jazz adjacent sounds, but familiar broadcast and music experts who bring context to those sounds. Jazzcast.ca is the home of Social Music! my weekly show that presents jazz for people who really don’t know how much they dig jazz. The show concentrates on jazz as social commentary, it’s music embedded with meaning and cultural weight. From the tsunami of talent coming out of the UK to Herbie and Kamasi sharing the stage. The music is alive and thriving.
